For Marisa Tomei's gorgeous red carpet look, makeup artist Matthew VanLeeuwen worked exclusively with Anastasia Beverly Hills product.
Matthew took the Anastasia Highlighting Crème Duo in St Tropez dipped into the crème blush and applied it in gentle back and forth sweeps across Marisa's smiling cheeks. (Pro tip: smiling makes the job mistake proof, because it helps the blush go where it's supposed to). Using the same brush, Matthew dipped into the highlighting crème and brushed the tops of the lips and nose with the illuminating fluid. The skin was "so translucent and smooth looking!"
Turning to brows, Matthew filled and shaped Marisa's with Anastasia Brow Wiz Pencil in Brunette and created a few feathery strokes in the brow and to define the bottom edge of the brow. Matthew then took Anastasia Brow Duality Pencil and placed a bit of the matte highlighter just at the arch of the brow. The total effect is ultra defined and crisp brows that perfectly frame the face.
Moving to the eyes, Matthew took Anastasia Illumin8 Eye Shadow Palette 1 and dusted the soft pink sorbet shadow all over the eye to brighten and tone the skin. Matthew raved that "the shadow is so smoothing and imparts a modern velvety texture." Then Matthew took Illumin8 palette 3 and blended the mauve shade into the crease "to create the perfect shade of orchid." Next, Matthew lined the eye with a thin line of black pencil and smudged the sparkly blue/black shadow from Illumin8 palette #3 into the lashline to create a softer, smokey eyeline.
The eye makeup was finished by curling the lashes and applying two coats of Anastasia Lash Lifting Mascara, which Matthew says "has reached cult status with many of my clients...it's incredible."
Finally to finish Marisa's stunning look, Matthew applied Anastasia Hydrafull Lip Gloss in Sangria, a gorgeous soft amethyst berry shade.

Oscars Beauty 2011: Cate Blanchett
Cate Blanchett, who presented the award for best makeup at the 83rd annual Academy Awards is known for her flawless complexion.
When you have flawless skin like Cate, you don't need much makeup. To get her award-winning look, the actress prepped her skin with SK-II Facial Treatment Essence and SK-II Facial Treatment Masks, both of which contain the highest concentration of SK-II's key ingredient, Pitera®.
Facial Treatment Essence, which helps promote radiant skin, is a simple step easy to incorporate into any skincare ritual. Used both day and night, it restores skin’s natural surface cycle. "SK-II is fundamentally different from other lines based on one indispensable product – the Facial Treatment Essence," Cate says. "It is like nothing I have ever used before, a clear liquid that you simply press into your skin. It clarifies and moisturizes. It basically does it all. As a result, my skin looks more balanced and healthy."
Facial Treatment Mask is a deeply intensive, moisture-boosting mask that hydrates the skin with Pitera® to promote more radiant and smoother skin. Cate says, "I use a Facial Treatment Mask to immediately brighten my complexion with a surge of Pitera® - it's so refreshing and leaves my skin feeling rejuvenated."
This dynamic duo intensely moisturizes the skin, resulting in a stunning luminous glow even before makeup is applied.

Oscars 2010 Beauty: Carey Mulligan
Oscar nominee Carey Mulligan was beautified by makeup artist Georgie Eisdell using the following products:"This was Carey's first Oscars so I wanted to make sure she looked age appropriate but still embrace the glamour of the night. Carey's dress was edgy and elegant so I wanted to keep her makeup looking fresh and youthful. I wanted to enhance the natural beauty of her skin so I used La Mer foundation lightly powdered with La Mer's translucent powder over that. For her eyes, I used Chanel soft beige and pink shadows from their spice palette. I used MAC's blacktrack eye liner followed by YSL's Faux Cils mascara in black. To finish off her eyes I sharpened up her eyebrows with Laura Mercier's soft blonde brow powder duo. For her cheeks, I wanted to give them a pinched cheek look with Dior's glowing color powder blush in fruit de la passion. For the finishing touch on her skin, I used Bobbi Brown bronzing powder in medium. And finally on her lips I used Dior addict lip polish 004. I used La Mer body creme on the way out the door to give her body the same glow."

Oscars 2010 Beauty: Jennifer Lopez
Jennifer Lopez was dazzling on the Oscar red carpet, wearing a beautiful Armani Prive dress, accented by an elegantly texturized updo created by master stylist Robert Vetica. The look was very modern and sophisticated. To create the style, Vetica started by applying Moroccanoil Hydrating Styling Cream on wet hair to create smoothness and shine. After blowdrying hair straight he sectioned hair off and created two ponytails, an inch apart, one on top of the other to create volume below the crown of the head.
Next, Vetica used a curling iron on each ponytail to create texture, and then brushed them out for width and volume. After creating the shape of the updo, he strategically pulled out stands throughout the look to create a modern textured effect using flyaways around the forehead to further soften. He then finished with new argan oil-infused Moroccanoil Luminous Hair Spray.
Moroccanoil is sold in fine salons and spas.

Oscars 2010 Beauty: Charlize Theron
Charlize Theron's Oscar hair looked extraordinary this year. Inspired by the classic shape of her gown, her longtime hairstylist, Enzo Angileri, created a style that emphasized delicate, enduring beauty."To create this look I needed a very smooth texture and lots of natural-looking shine," explained Angileri. He used new argan oil-infused Moroccanoil Light, made especially for fine and light colored hair, on wet strands before blow-drying to ensure the hair itself looked perfected. "After that about 50% of my work was done," he said, "and I had a texture that was workable, healthy-looking and naturally beautiful."
Angileri then created a low, classic bun by rolling hair around clockwise, held in place with several bobby pins, to complete the classic polished look.
He finished the style with a light misting of Moroccanoil Glimmer Shine Spray to give hair an extra touch of red carpet glamour for the cameras. The look was held in place with new Moroccanoil Luminous Hairspray for a firm, flexible hold.
Moroccanoil is sold in fine salons and spas.

Oscars Beauty 2010: Maggie Gyllenhaal
Maggie Gyllenhaal's Oscar beauty look, by COVERGIRL celebrity makeup artist, Molly R. Stern."Maggie is the muse of spring. Her Dries Van Noten gown is a swirl of bright colors that fades into white. For her makeup I wanted to bring out the color of her eyes with some depth while keeping with the brightness of her overall style. We started off the look by refreshing the skin with Jurlique Rose Water spray. Then I prepped the skin with Shu Uemura red:juvenus vitalizing concentrate and lightly moisturized with La Mer moisturizing lotion.
"For a flawless complexion I primed Maggie's skin with COVERGIRL & Olay Simply Ageless Serum Primer (out in July!!). Then I lightly applied some Chantecaille future skin foundation in the color 'cream' only where she needed it. Then lastly I dusted La Mer powder foundation in 'Ivory' to set the skin for the big night.
"For her amber peachy cheeks I used COVERGIRL & Olay Simply Ageless Sculpting Blush in Rich Cinnamon. And dusted some NARS Dolce Vita blush on the apples.
"For Maggie's eyes of layered copper smoke I based her eye with COVERGIRL Smoky ShadowBlast in Bronze Fire. Next I deepened her lid with NARS soft touch shadow pencil in Skorpios. Then I blended into the crease Shu Uemura pressed eye shadow 'p brown 810' and lastly I lightly dusted Shu Uemura pressed eyeshadow in 'n me brown 860' all over the lid for a golden finish. For the undereye, I resmudged the COVERGIRL Smoky ShadowBlast under her lash line to bring out the blue of Maggie's eyes. Finally I defined her lashes by combining brown and black mascara. I painted the lashes with both colors using COVERGIRL LashBlast Length for perfectly flirty long lashes.
"On Maggie's lips I applied NARS 'Schiap' lip color – it was the perfect shade to finish off the look. Its bright hue matches Maggie's vibrant sense of style and confidence."

Oscars Beauty 2010: Queen Latifah
Queen Latifah's Oscar beauty look was cerated by makeup artist D'Andre Michael."For Queen Latifah’s Oscar's look I decided to go with a plum smoky eye, soft mauve lip and bronzed skin. Queen Latifah's wardrobe was a beautiful, custom-designed lavender gown. I used a foundation brush to apply COVERGIRL Queen Collection Natural Hue Liquid Makeup in Warm Caramel and set it with COVERGIRL Queen Collection Natural Hue Minerals Pressed Powder in Brown Bronze 1.
"For Queen Latifah's eyes, I started by applying COVERGIRL Queen Collection Natural Hue Minerals Pressed Powder in Brown Bronze 1 to the brow bone. I do this to achieve a more natural look to the brow bone. Secondly, I used COVERGIRL Smoky ShadowBlast in Purple Plume on the entire lid from the lash line to the inner crease. I then used COVERGIRL Smoky ShadowBlast in Onyx Smoke in the inner crease to blend up on the brow bone. For depth and intensity, I used COVERGIRL Outlast Smoothwear All Day Eyeliner in Onyx on the inner bottom eyelid. To give lashes the oomph that most women crave, I applied COVERGIRL LashBlast Length Waterproof Mascara in Very Black.
"For Queen Latifah's lips, I wanted to compliment the plum eye by doing a beautiful mauve lip to balance out the various purple hues of the entire look. To start I used a base coat of MAC Lipstick in Midimauve and then lined her lips with Kevyn Aucoin Flesh Tone Lip Pencil in Deep. I recommend rubbing your lips together after lining lips to blend the line. I added luster and shine to Queen’s lips by applying a dab of COVERGIRL ShineBlast Lip Gloss in Aglow.
"To complete Queen’s look I used CARGO Blush in Siena on the apples of her cheekbones for a hint of color and glow. To complete the overall look I used COVERGIRL Queen Collection Natural Hue Minerals Bronzer in Brown Bronze for a soft and subtle glow on her upper cheekbones, forehead, nose, neck and collar bone."

Demi Moore was a vision at the Academy Awards, from her dusty rose Versace gown to her easy updo to her softly dramatic makeup. Celebrity makeup artist Jo Strettell did the beauty honors for the always-stunning Demi. For Demi's complexion, Jo mixed two Giorgio Armani foundations—Luminous Silk Foundation and Lasting Silk UV SPF 34 Compact Foundation—and swept YSL Touche Éclat under the eyes and around the nose. Lancôme Blush Subtil in Rose Fresque, just on the apples of the cheeks, brightened her complexion.
Jo created the soft, smoky eye with Lancôme Color Design Eye in Ciel du Soir on the lid and Color Design Eye in Honeymoon as a highlight from right above the lid to the brow bone and on the inner corner of the eyes. Oscars Beauty 2010: Sandra Bullock
"Tonight was Sandra's big night and she was in a happy, ethereal mood. I wanted her to look like the true movie star she is, so we went with modern classy Hollywood - dewy skin, soft eyes, and a bold classic red lip." -Makeup Artist Angela LevinAngela prepped Sandra's skin with CHANEL Sublimage Fluid. She then used a foundation brush to apply CHANEL Vitalumiere Satin Smoothing Fluid Makeup in Shell all over the face.
Angela created a structured brow with the soft brown powder in the limited edition Les Regards de CHANEL Palette. She lined Sandra's eyes with the darker brown shade in the same palette. Finally, she applied three coats of CHANEL Inimitable Waterproof Mascara in Noir for sexy, glamorous lashes.
To create the real focus of Sandra's look - a gorgeous, bold red lip - Angela applied CHANEL Rouge Coco Lip Colour in Paris. She finished the look by gently dabbing a bit of the same lip color on the apples of Sandra's cheeks - Angela's signature makeup trick.
Frederic Fekkai stylist Adir Abergel wanted to bring back simplicity, with Sandra’s sleek and straight down-do. The strong side part created beautiful lines to compliment her dress. He modernized the texture of the hair by creating a sleek look, with a slight wave at the end.Conditioned hair is very important for any sleek style. Abergel used FEKKAI Advanced Glossing Shampoo and Conditioner, leaving the conditioner on for 15 minutes. He then rinsed and towel dried the hair. Then he parted the hair in a deep side part. Abergel recommends following the arch of your brow to choose where to part your hair. He then took a large FEKKAI Round Brush and blow-dried the hair completely straight, making sure the roots were flat. Then spray with FEKKAI Sheer Hold Hairspray to 2" sections of hair from roots to the end and use a flat iron to get a bone straight effect. To finish the look, Abergel took a 1 1/4" inch curling iron and lightly curled the ends of the hair for a nice slight wave and tucked the bangs behind the ear. To complete the look he added the FEKKAI Silky Straight Ironless Smooth Finish Serum to create a sleek finish.

Oscars Beauty 2010: Amanda Seyfried
"The look I was going for Amanda was movie star glamour while maintaining a young, fresh and modern feel." -Makeup Artist Monika BlunderFor Amanda’s skin, Monika started off moisturizing her with CHANEL Sublimage Fluid to give her a natural glow. Then she applied CHANEL Teint Innocence Foundation in Gentle Ivory all over her skin.
Monika first lined her upper and lower lash line with CHANEL Intense Eye Pencil in Noir, extending the line past the outer corner and up. Then she blended with a brush to soften any hard lines. Next, she applied the darkest color in the CHANEL Quadra Eyeshadow in Smoky Eyes starting at lash line and blending up towards the brow bone using a variation of the lighter colors in the palette. She finished with CHANEL Soft Touch Eye Shadow in Ivory on the inner corner of top and bottom lash line. To complete the eyes, she curled the lashes and applied three coats of CHANEL Inimitable Mascara in Noir.
CHANEL Powder Blush in Rose Petale gave her a fresh rosy glow on her cheeks. Amanda’s look was completed by applying CHANEL Rouge Coco Lip Colour in Perle.
Harry Josh, John Frieda International Creative Consultant, shared his styling secrets to get Amanda Seyfried's cool, understated look with easy-to-use tips and tricks.
Harry gave Amanda the new Frizz-Ease Smooth Start Hydrating Shampoo and Conditioner in advance as the frizz-fighting formula was essential to smooth and hydrate dry strands and replenish moisture for a nice, smooth blow out."These shampoos and conditioners were the perfect way for Amanda to prep her hair," said Harry. "The look was clean and sleek, so it was important to start the fight against frizz early so that Amanda's hair would be silky, shiny and totally manageable."
Harry applied the new Root Awakening Strength Restoring Gel to Amanda's hair at the roots to help achieve the sleek, flattened shape he was going for. Using a tail comb instead of a round brush to avoid lift, Harry blew the hair out, combing it flat to the head as he dried.
Harry then used the Sheer Blonde Crystal Clear Shape & Shimmer Hairspray section by section to hold the style. "Amanda has such beautiful naturally blonde hair that I wanted to ensure it looked its best all night and didn’t photograph dark – which some finishing sprays can cause. By using a light hairspray you avoid adding residue or darkening the blonde hair."
Harry finished by creating an extreme, slick side part and pulling Amanda's hair back into a bun. He left a little bit of the bun sticking out in a fan, a last minute decision he made to reflect the pattern on Amanda's earrings.

Oscars Beauty 2010: Rachel McAdams
"We chose our colour palette based on the water color look of Rachel's dress. There was a wash of cool tones in the dress, blue, green, purple, pink so we wanted the eye, cheek and lips to all have this same water color sheerness to it." -Makeup Artist Kayleen McAdamsFor Rachel's eyes, Kayleen used a combination of grey and pink shades. On the lid, she used CHANEL Fluid Iridescent Eyeshadow in Fountain.
She kept the grey on the outer corners of the lid and underneath the eye. She used the rose gold shade in the CHANEL Quadra Eyeshadow in Spices up to the brown bone and along the lid. To finish it off, Kayleen used CHANEL Soft Touch Eye Shadow in Slate in the inner corners of the eye, and followed up with two coats of CHANEL Inimitable Mascara in Noir.
She kept the lips very simple with CHANEL Rouge Coco Lip Colour in Rose Comete, a beautiful light pink shade, and a bit of CHANEL Glossimer in Futile to accentuate the lips but keep the focus on the eyes.

Oscars Beauty 2010: Anna Kendrick

Arcona Skincare - Prep: "Anna has beautiful skin and doesn't need much to make it glow. I prepped her skin with a light, all natural moisturizer to help it stay hydrated throughout the night."
* Prepped with Arcona's Magic White Ice to protect, nourish and hydrate skin.

* Dabbed and blended tarte's natural cheek stain in eco-cheek on the apples of her cheeks.

Arcona Skincare - Finish: "I finished with a light spritz of lavender mist for added hydration and an extra dose of calming with aromatherapy."
* Set the look with Arcona's Lavendar Hydrasol for a fresh and dewy complexion.
Anna Kendrick wore a romantic blush-colored Eli Saab gown on the Oscar red carpet, complimented by an effortlessly elegant, modern updo designed by stylist Craig Gangi.
Gangi, inspired by the graceful off-the-shoulder look, created an updo highlighting softly waved texture accenting healthy hair with natural-looking shine. He first applied argan oil-infused Moroccanoil Hydrating Styling Cream to add moisture and give hair a soft hold that was smooth as well as frizz-free and static-free.
After blow-drying hair straight, Gangi used a medium sized curling iron to create loose, natural waves. He then pulled strands back, leaving just enough hair at the nape of the neck to create a small ponytail, and shaped a loose, undone textured bun.
To add a touch of drama, he went back to weave three small braids with the remaining hair, then again braided the three with each other. Finally he circled the braid around the bun. After pinning the style, he sprayed Moroccanoil Luminous Hairspray to hold the look in place without stiffness, and misted the final updo with Moroccanoil Glimmer Shine Spray for additional boost of red carpet shine.
Moroccanoil is sold in fine salons and spas.

Oscars 2009 Beauty: Vanessa Hudgens

Actress and Neutrogena brand ambassador, Vanessa Hudgens, was glowing alongside boyfriend, Zac Efron, at last night’s 81st Annual Academy Awards. The actress’s natural beauty was enhanced with neutral shades and warm pink lips.
To achieve her naturally beautiful evening look, celebrity makeup artist, Karan Mitchell, first applied Neutrogena Healthy Skin Glow Sheers in Light to Medium to Vanessa’s already radiant skin.To set the look and add a hint of shimmer, she then applied Neutrogena Mineral Sheers Blush in in Natural Apricot to the apples of her cheeks, followed by a touch of Neutrogena Mineral Sheers Illuminator.
To create Vanessa’s soft-smoky eye, Mitchell began by applying Neutrogena 3-in-1 Concealer for Eyes in Medium underneath the eye to rid of any dark circles, and on the eyelid as an eye-shadow base. She then used Nourishing Eye Duo in Fairy Dust, applying the darker shade to the crease and then brushing the accent shade over the entire lid up to the brow bone. Mitchell finished by applying two coats of Neutrogena Healthy Volume Mascara in Carbon Black.
To complement Vanessa’s darker eye, Mitchell applied a mixture of two pink moisture-infused lip colors – Neutrogena MoistureShine Lipstick SPF 20 in Angel’s Blush and Sheer Luck.
FHI Heat National Artistic Director Angel del Solar explains step-by-step how to recreate Vanessa's glamorous hairstyle. "Take 2 x 2 inch triangles, lightly saturate the hair with your favorite aerosol hairspray. Comb through the section to make sure hair is evenly distributed. With one hand, take entire section and twist to base. Place the FHI Heat 3/4" Curling Iron underneath the section. Take the hair and wind around the FHI Heat 3/4" Curling Iron. Hold for approximately 15 seconds - slide iron out and secure with the FHI Heat T-Rex Clips. Complete the entire head in this fashion. Let it all cool and remove clips. Apply approximately 1/2 a dime size of FHI Heat Hot Sauce to hands to emulsify - work through sections gently."Photos: Wireimage
